Alicia & Christopher

It’s so rare to see puppy love in engaged couples anymore. It seems like more often than not, marriage proposals are little more than an exercise in practicality rather than an expression of love. Not so with this couple. I have yet to meet a couple so in love. It was really cute to see how they interact with each other. As they gazed into each others’ eyes, lovingly held hands, and shared gentle kisses, an aura of love enveloped every shot. Let me assure, those smiles are genuine.

Ups and downs- Lawrence KS

There are many events in life that almost demand having a photographer present to capture and frame the memories for posterity: a wedding, the welcoming home of a newborn child, graduation. But many don’t realize that sometimes, the every-day moments at home, like sitting around on the sofa or cooking in the backyard are just as important to preserve as the momentous occasions in life. That is why we do all of our family and newborn sessions in our clients’ homes. Some of our most fun photography jobs have been centered around capturing the ups and downs–the unscripted moments at home. When I started as a photographer, I would practice at home, using my family members as guinea pigs. My first real ‘session’ featured my son and a bowel of spaghetti. He was only one your old at the time, and got marinara all over his high-chair and himself, but it made for beautiful and colorful images. So, next time you catch your child making a mess and she looks at you with her innocent, puppy-dog eyes, instead of sending her to her room, take a picture, or call me and I’ll take a few for you! :)

Three-year-old on the loose!

Sometimes my favorite pictures I take of my son are the ones with a photojournalistic style. These are just a few fun pics I took of my little toddler earlier this month. He wanted to wear the straw hat (he called his crown) which was fun since my Puerto Rican ancestors probably wore some like these while working in the fields. He was just graceful in it!

Lindsey & Brett

We shot a classy wedding last month. One Lindsey and Brett exchanged beautiful vows in Gladstone, MO in a grand chapel, filled with friends and loved ones. The ceremony was touching and the reception at Little Theater in Kansas City, MO was a lot of fun. We got a beautiful signature shot of Lindsey and Brett motionless amongst the jubilant dancing at the reception. Here are some of their jaw-dropping beautiful shots to highlight moments of their wedding day.

I think it is hilarious how the guys avoided the garter while Josie {the bride’s maid who caught the bouquet) looked determined to catch it even from before the toss!

Grandma at 100 Years!

As a child I wondered how it would be like to be 100 years old. Last December I was able to visit my 100 year old grandmother in New York a few days before the 100 birthday celebration my family gave her.

Here she is trying to trim a few years.
