Newborn Sweetheart!
I must start off by being grateful to Josh for supporting me SO much in the photography business. I honestly do not know how one can do it without this kind of support! In this case, Josh did not only hold up backdrops and bear with me in the insanely hot room that kept Carter cozy, he actually helped in the posing! I am so glad he had been there to make this session a blast! And Carter, you are the sweetest baby!
Mom and dad wanted to keep his “battle scar”! I think it adds character!

The fine print:
Each entrant will submit a photo of themselves along with their fiance/fiancee via the Bridal Session Giveaway tab on the Mojica Photography, Makeup Artistry by Heather, and Altar Bridal pages on Facebook. Submissions begin on January 3, 2012, and end on February 29, 2012. One winner will be chosen to receive a free bridal session at Loose Mansion. The winner will have hair styled and makeup applied by Makeup Artistry By Heather and will wear lines exclusive to Altar Bridal for a 90min-2 hour photo bridal session. She will receive a 20×30 print of her favorite image of the session to display on her wedding day plus a $300 print credit. In addition to her grand prize she will additionally get a FREE engagement session and a 15% discount on her wedding day package by Mojica Photography, $500 off a gown purchase from Altar Bridal, and free makeup with the purchase of three other people’s makeup, e.g., bridesmaids. Two runner ups will get a FREE engagement session and 10% off any wedding package with Mojica Photography. Engagement session will be taken at a separate time of the Bridal Session. Winners of the free engagement session may have the engagement session at the location of their choice. Read through the rules to see how to increase your chances of winning, by getting multiple votes from your friends.

All entrants must be 18 or over.
All entrants must live near or be willing to travel to Loose Mansion, located 101 East Armour Boulevard Kansas City, MO 64111-1203, to have their session.
All entrants must upload an appropriate photo of themselves with their fiance/fiancee on any/all of the Bridal Session Giveaway tabs Mojica Photography, Makeup Artistry by Heather, Altar Bridal, and complete the form on the photo uploading page. All inappropriate photos will be removed and the entrant will be disqualified from the contest.
All entrants consent by participating in the giveaway to have their photo and first name and last name initial, as well as that of their fiance/fiancee made public on our social networking sites, blogs, newsletters, and/or company websites, should they win the contest.
The winner will be notified by email, on March 1, 2012.
How to win:
Once you have uploaded your photo and filled out the entry form on one or all of the giveaway tabs on the participating sponsors’ pages, tell everyone that you know about the contest and ask them to vote for you. Each of your friends may vote using each of the sponsors’ Bridal Show Giveaway tab, so you can get one vote per sponsor page. All votes will be added up on March 1, 2012 and the winning bride and runner ups will be notified via email.
When winning:
The winning bride and runner ups will be notified via email and must respond within the next 5 business days to acknowledge she won. All sponsors and winner will schedule a time and date to have the session taken place. Dates depend on availability of each participating sponsor and are more likely to be taken place on a weekday from Monday – Friday.
Amanda and Ryan @ Abe and Jake’s, Lawrence KS
In the midst of family & friends both the bride and groom prepare to wed. Surrounded by those who love them and are willing to run last minute errands to make final touches, Amanda and Ryan prepare to spend the rest of their lives together. After sliding into her dress, her sister and friends fastened a decorative pin to her gown, helped slip in to her shoes, fasten her veil and place a flower on her hair . . . She was getting married!
The details they put into their day from the beautiful, bright blue Hey Lady shoes by the Leung twins to the guardian angel pin with her grandmother’s birthstone to her drop-dead gorgeous short skirted dress. She soon became a star!
The groom did not fall behind, as he got ready for his permanent role as husband, he carefully got ready and patietly waited for their first encounter with perfect poise.
Josh captured the bride’s reaction to seeing in her future husband perfectly!
I love having time to take portraits and other fun photos prior to the ceremony!
Bride and groom married at the wonderful Abe & Jake’s Landing in Lawrence, a venue that reflects both the theatricality as well as the class these two local actors possess.
The ceremony was the perfect setting with perfect light flowing in the windows.
During the reception, the couple did not cease to amaze me on how wonderfully they look together.
A wedding in South Park- Crystal & Robbie
As we arrived to SpringHills Suites to photograph Crystal and Robbie’s getting ready images, I instantly fell in love with two things her golden-yellow shoes and the matching orchid in her hair! I loved how it complimented her bright smiling countenance. She was about to get married!
Her mom made her a small pouch that held a Silver dollar that her grand dad gave her and a penny her mom had on the day she had gotten married to Crystal’s dad. I love it!
To Crystal and Robbie: You guys are such a beautiful couple inside and out! I am glad to have been part of your wedding and am glad to have met the two of you! And all the laughs we were able to share including Robbie’s rock juggling! Random, I know … Hugs!
Lawrence Transformed- Hetal and Samir’s Hindu/Indian Wedding
You might have already read about a wedding I shot last week if you subscribe to the Lawrence Journal-World: It made the front page last Wednesday. The wedding was a magnet for photogs. In addition to the newspaper coming to the SpringHills Suites, many guests (and even some vendors) had their cameras on hand trying to capture some of the amazing imagery. And who can blame them! From the décor by Event Experts and BitterSweet Floral to the amazing custom sarees and jewelry, the wedding ran the full gamut of colors. Resplendent reds canvassed the bride and groom during the Mandap ceremony. Oneiric oranges of curry blanketed basmati rice at the dinner by Swagat Fine Indian Cuisine and cakes from Slice of Life. Neon colors pulsated on the dance floor at the reception. Eye candy!
Thanks to everyone that helped our photography on the wedding, to Heather for doing the makeup on such short notice and Nichole from Dash for doing the hair. (Speaking of hair, thanks to all the groomsmen for helping the groom shave for the big day too LOL!) A special thanks to Carmen that helped plan and make this such A Beautiful Wedding! It felt like we were in a hotel in Mumbai. Seriously, covering it was a grand, profound experience for us.
Just Because
I love when people ask for photography sessions, “just because.” There are so many occasions that almost demand that photos be taken in order to preserve the moment: graduations, weddings, babies’ first steps, etc. But last week I had a wonderfully refreshing session with a young couple that wanted to take pictures “just because.” There was no major event, no real reason behind the session. They just wanted some pictures taken of themselves walking around KU campus. How romantic! I love when my habib (pet-name for my husband) brings flowers or treats “just because.”
What has been the most thoughtful “just because” moment/gift your sweetheart has given you? Love to hear those!
A Royal wedding
So, you want to have a royal wedding, but your name isn’t Kate Middleton. Not a problem, if you’re willing have your ceremony in the classiest city in Kansas–Lawrence (disclosure: I may be a little biased, since I live in Lawrence). The Castle Tea Room, an actual castle, serves as a venue for intimate weddings and receptions, and I had the pleasure of covering a wedding there a few weeks ago. The ceremony had an ancient Scottish theme, and was very moving. I was only sorry there were no kilts. Enjoy!

Wow, it certainly has been a while since I have posted anything to the blog. In fact this is my first post of the year! Since I have not written in awhile, this post will just have a summary of mid to late of last year’s and early 2011′s sessions. Hopefully I can keep you up to date in the future, in the meantime enjoy some fun images that we have taken since our last post!

I am so excited to be part of the WING Bridal Show on Saturday, November 13th 2010. This Is the first time the historical Eldridge hotel in downtown Lawrence, KS has had a full out bridal show! The Crystal Ballroom will be filled with wedding professionals from wedding planning to photography 
. This is a great one-stop event where some of you will find all the wedding professionals you need for your wedding day!
Don’t be fooled by the free admission; there will be wedding professionals there to help you make those crucial decisions that would help mold your wedding day the way you need it to unfold.
