Many brides have asked me what a bridal session is; and just in case you are wondering what they are too, you have come to the right place! A bridal session is the perfect time to try on your dress, get your makeup on and hair done at the same time so you can see just how stunning you will look on photo besides on your wedding day. So this way you would look great just as you will on the big day without all the stress and time restraints! Bridals are usually taken before the wedding day and can be taken with your soon-to-be-hubby. We can even stage your “first look” moment with each other with out friends and family looking over your shoulder so this way you can genuinely hug, cry, kiss without thinking if you are still on schedule. We can go to your favorite places or just go off to a vineyard and create tender moments.

Whether your fiance comes to the bridal session or not, these can be valuable photos to hang on your wall or added to your wedding album. Because the stress of the wedding day will not be nagging our every moment, our creative juices will definitely be flowing more freely and we could create them practically anywhere without needing to consider if it were too far away from the venue or if guests were waiting for us your grand entrance.

When is the best time to have the bridal session? My awesome photographer, Amber, took mine a couple months before my wedding day. This way, I had time to make any prints I wanted to showcase on our wedding day. You can have them as early as a you like as long as you already have your dress and your hair stylist and makeup artist already picked out. Be sure to already have the dress fitted and have done at least one trial before this session so that everything may flow much better! Another good thing about having your bridal session on another day is so you can control the weather a bit… okay so you can’t really “control” the weather, but you can reschedule a bridal session if Mother Nature decides to make it rain on your bridal session day–just be sure to pay attention to the forecast and contact your hair, make up and awesome photographer to reschedule on time! We more than anything want this to be an amazing moment of fun for you as you prepare for your wedding day.

What to bring on your bridal session?

You will want to bring a friend to carry a white sheet or blanket to protect your dress just in case I have you sit down anywhere. extra hairspray and some tissues if you’d think you’ll cry when you see your fiance! Also, be sure to bring comfortable shoes beside your wedding shoes just in case we have to hike before we get to the shooting spot! I certainly do not want to get your beautiful shoes dirty! Also if you are into any sports or would like to wear some cleats under your dress, be sure to let us know so we can get some fun ideas there as well!

The fine print:
Each entrant will submit a photo of themselves along with their fiance/fiancee via the Bridal Session Giveaway tab on the Mojica Photography, Makeup Artistry by Heather, and Altar Bridal pages on Facebook. Submissions begin on January 3, 2012, and end on February 29, 2012. One winner will be chosen to receive a free bridal session at Loose Mansion. The winner will have hair styled and makeup applied by Makeup Artistry By Heather and will wear lines exclusive to Altar Bridal for a 90min-2 hour photo bridal session. She will receive a 20×30 print of her favorite image of the session to display on her wedding day plus a $300 print credit. In addition to her grand prize she will additionally get a FREE engagement session and a 15% discount on her wedding day package by Mojica Photography, $500 off a gown purchase from Altar Bridal, and free makeup with the purchase of three other people’s makeup, e.g., bridesmaids. Two runner ups will get a FREE engagement session and 10% off any wedding package with Mojica Photography. Engagement session will be taken at a separate time of the Bridal Session. Winners of the free engagement session may have the engagement session at the location of their choice. How to win:

Once you have uploaded your photo and filled out the entry form on one or all of the giveaway tabs on the participating sponsors’ pages, tell everyone that you know about the contest and ask them to vote for you. Each of your friends may vote using each of the sponsors’ Bridal Show Giveaway tab, so you can get one vote per sponsor page. All votes will be added up on March 1, 2012 and the winning bride and runner ups will be notified via email.

When winning:

The winning bride and runner ups will be notified via email and must respond within the next 5 business days to acknowledge she won. All sponsors and winner will schedule a time and date to have the session taken place. Dates depend on availability of each participating sponsor and are more likely to be taken place on a weekday from Monday – Friday.

Our two runner-up couples Ron & Lauren and Lynsie & Seth will receive a Free engagement session and a discount on other wedding-related purchases from Mojica Photography.

Wow! This has been a close one. The two highest couples have been neck to neck from the moment the both entered. It’s so rare to see puppy love in engaged couples anymore. It seems like more often than not, marriage proposals are little more than an exercise in practicality rather than an expression of love. Not so with this couple. I have yet to meet a couple so in love. It was really cute to see how they interact with each other. As they gazed into each others’ eyes, lovingly held hands, and shared gentle kisses, an aura of love enveloped every shot. Let me assure, those smiles are genuine.

What would you do on a rainy day? How about have your engagement session? This couple had scheduled their engagement session and the day was super overcast all morning and the drizzle started falling a few minutes just before the session began. Well, they were all dressed and ready to go, I had my cameras and a few umbrellas in the trunk, why not? Here is a teaser of this amazing couple as they endured the weather during their engagement session.
