Engaged on a rainy day

What would you do on a rainy day? How about have your engagement session? This couple had scheduled their engagement session and the day was super overcast all morning and the drizzle started falling a few minutes just before the session began. Well, they were all dressed and ready to go, I had my cameras and a few umbrellas in the trunk, why not? Here is a teaser of this amazing couple as they endured the weather during their engagement session.

Adding music to videos makes such a difference! I love it!

A home made rattle and a huge smile- Lawrence KS photography

I was amazed when I was told that this rattle was made out of one single piece of wood by Ethan’s grandfather. I could tell that he put much love into making it. It’s always fun seeing new, unique toys/props in my shoots!

Hina and Nilam’s Nikkah wedding ceremony

Here is a teaser from Hina and Nilam’s Nikkah wedding ceremony in Leawood KS. I love the detail on her jewelry, make-up, and dress. Stay tuned to see the rest of the photos!

On a wonderful Spring day…

I shot this family a few months back when the new kid on the block was just two weeks old, now she recently just turned six months old (time flies!) She has trades her wrinkly newborn features for a true photogenic beauty. It was funny because she seemed to be teething, thus not as smiley as her beautiful self, but wow- did she wow me with her eyes and occasional spurts of laughter that mom and dad managed to get out out her in spite of her sore gums! Oh how she proved me to be a gem! And her eyes, in some of the pictures, just make your heart melt.

Family Hugs Smiling Mugs

This family session was shot on a beautiful spring afternoon in Ottawa as an anniversary gift for “mom and dad”. It was a little sunny, but luckily the family was big enough to spare a few family members to hold my reflector discs. The tree trunks in this park were enormous, and provided excellent shade as well. I love the pictures with the grandfather. It’s hard sometimes to find the time to spend with extended family, especially when you have a large family, but it is so worth it. Look at the grandfather’s sublime smile as he has his arms around the kids, I LOVE it! I will remember this session for a long time– laughs and all!
